Raisin Water for constipation and urination problem in children (infants / babies)

It is hot summer here in Chennai. My 5 months old daughter Umayal got problem during urination. Her urination frequency and quantity got reduced. Added to that she started to cry while urinating. Since she takes only breastfeed, I cannot give her water to keep her hydrated. When I called her doctor to get his advice, he asked us to come to the hospital. I was not ready to take her to hospital for small issues as I had some bad experience earlier. Then my neighbour gave me this home remedy and it worked.
All we need for this is few raisin and little water. Here I have explained with step by step process along with photos.
1. Take few sweet raisin (I used some 7 raisin as it was little big).
2. Wash the raisin and soak it in hot water over night or for 4-5 hours.
3. It would become very soft. Gently crush with hand or spoon and extract all pulp. Do not throw away the soaked water.
4. With the help of a fine white cloth, filter it. Make sure there is no residue mixed with the extract. Babies will not be able to swallow it.

5. With the help of a paaladai or sangadai (sangu) you can give it to your baby. Do not force the baby to complete the entire solution. If your baby takes only little then break it and give after a short interval. If you are not used to sangadai then you can also use droppers.
Hope this post is useful to you. Happy summer !!!
